Description
This very popular 100g tube of Wet Stuff Gold is the premium lubricant made in Australia. Being water based and low irritant, its an ideal lube that won’t dry out. This ‘staple’ product is a must for enhancing regular sex or vibrator/dildo use. Background of Wet Stuff Australia Wet Stuff personal lubricant is the first of a new generation of water based personal lubricants that resists drying out in use. Wet Stuff was first released for sale in 1987. Since then many new formulations have been added to the range. The use of condoms helps reduce the risk of sexually transmissible infections (S.T.I’s). Wet Stuff when applied correctly increases the pleasure of personal contact with condoms and reduces the risk of breakage of condoms due to lubricant failure. Made For Fun The name Wet Stuff has been chosen to help people relax. It often brings a laugh and helps put people at ease. This is an important feature that helps people become at ease with condom use. As the methods of transmission of Sexually Transmitted Infections are more widely studied it has become apparent that any transfer of body fluids is a health hazard. As a result Wet Stuff has been formulated as an edible medical lubricant for application to condoms. Condoms help reduce the risk of transmission of STI’s. Wet Stuff has been formulated only from ingredients that have been tested and used extensively in both the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries for the last 30 years and have been found to give a very low incidence of allergic responses. The Wet Stuff range is also designed for use during or before sex. Because of the importance of slowing the spread of STI’s, condom use is strongly encouraged. Studies show that the use of lubricants with condoms reduce the rates of condom breakage and make condom use much more pleasurable. Population groups who do not use lubricants with condoms have much higher breakage rates of condoms. How Much Do You Use? With all lubricants the amount that you use depends on the conditions. If you use too much it will need to be washed off and if you use too little it will dry out. Each different formulation may need a little trial and error to find the right amount for your favourite use. Wet Stuff Tests Wet Stuff has an unusually long skin adsorption and drying time. Market Research has shown that rapid lubricant failure requiring frequent reapplication, is the major cause of consumer dissatisfaction with water based lubricants. In dry skin adsorption and dry skin lubrication tests, a generous application of Wet Stuff has been found to give good lubrication for upto to the 30 minutes recommended maximum condom use time. All of the other products tested (Lubafax, Surgipack, Mucos, Sylk, Slip Gell, etc.) when applied generously to dry skin were dry in under 3 minutes. The high glycerine content of Wet Stuff serves to give excellent water retention. None of these other products contain an ingredient at this concentration to help retain water. Condom burst tests with Wet Stuff applied to condoms and tested after very long time periods show that the ingredients used in Wet Stuff do not affect the integrity of the latex. All of the tested condoms remained within the standard required for use in Australia (EN 600). The product is intrinsically bacteriostatic due to the concentration of glycerine and also contains the cosmetic and pharmaceutical grade preservatives potassium sorbate and phenonip. Phenonip is a hypo allergenic mix of methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl p-hydroxy benzoate. The mix allows a lower total preservative concentration to be used but still have good preservative effect. This level does not sensitise people who are not already sensitised to preservatives. People who have allergies to preservatives or cosmetics should test each new product in a shower so that if they are allergic they can wash it off easily. The rate of preservative irritation with Gel Works lubricants is less than one report per 10 tonne of product. Or one in 10 million uses. These preservatives are at a level in Wet Stuff that passes the BP preservative challenge test. Preservative sensitivity tests on people have shown that after prolonged exposure to Wet Stuff, no signs of irritation occurred in those people.
